Significant savings for meetings and event organisers

Conference planners can save up to 35 per cent on venue bookings in Wales when they log onto the Visit Wales' newly launched business travel website.

The specialist website is designed to help guide meeting and conference organisers through the variety of venues that Wales has to offer so they can find a place suitable to both event and budget.

As an incentive to log on, the WTB has teamed up with venues across Wales to offer special discounts on standard rates, helping organisers to make substantial savings.

Pat Crimp, Marketing Manager for WTB's Business Travel Unit, said: "The website is a valuable resource for meetings and event organisers. Not only does it contain a venue search it also boasts these great special offers".

Examples of discounts in June include a 34 per cent saving on the standard day rate at the Heronston Hotel in Bridgend, which is offered at £23, and a saving of 20 per cent on all secondary space at the Cardiff International Arena (day rate only).

Pat Crimp added: "It is offers like these that will help keep the website fresh and exciting and provide a useful tool for business and event organisers.

"Wales has so much to offer as a business travel destination. It is extremely accessible, it is good value for money and offers a great choice of venues - from historic castles to purpose built modern complexes."
